Can I make my statistics private?
Solution
When you create a Site Meter account you have the option of setting your statistics privacy to Normal, Medium, or High.  The privacy level is set from the Manager section under the “Privacy Level” link. The default setting is Normal.

NORMAL  Your visitors can view all of your site traffic reports and charts by clicking on your counter.

MEDIUM  Your visitors can't see any of your site reports and charts but the information in the "General Summary" report may be used and displayed in public lists or rankings with other sites (for example: a list of sites ranked by their average daily visits).

If someone clicks on the Site Meter counter on your page, it will not take them to your statistics page. But if you are logged into Site Meter, clicking on your counter will take you to your site's statistics page. Everyone else will be sent to the Site Meter home page.

HIGH  Your visitors can't see your site reports and your site will not be displayed on any public lists. After selecting this option, whenever you are logged into Site Meter, clicking on your counter will take you to your site's statistics page. Everyone else will be sent to the Site Meter home page.

NOTE – Setting your privacy level to high will prohibit outside partners such as www.truthlaidbear.com from ranking your site in their “Eco Traffic” report.

If you want to keep your privacy settings public or normal but don’t want visitors clicking to see your stats there is an option to place an invisible counter on your site which is available through our premium account.

If you wish to test the privacy setting for your statistics, logout of your account, then go to your site and click on your counter.  When you click on your counter logo you will be redirected to Sitemeter.com and depending on your settings you may or may not see all your statistics.  The privacy settings are available in both the free and premium version of Site Meter.
